JUDGMENT OF RECORD ·
Enhanced geothermal is now a commercial grid supplier, not a pilot. Fervo began selling Cape Station power Sept 30, 23 months after construction began.
Fervo declared commercial operation at Cape Station in Utah on Oct 1, after its first 33MW block began selling power Sept 30, a day early. Fervo calls it the first greenfield enhanced geothermal plant to reach contractual commercial operation. Two more blocks are due by Jan 1, 2027 for 100MW, and a 400MW second phase in 2028. Google holds a 396MW contract, and Fervo cites over 1GW of binding contracts. It targets 18 months per future project.
The grid needs firm supply fast. On Sept 30 PJM postponed its 6.8GW backstop procurement for data center load after FERC approved only part of the plan. The same day Ameren Missouri filed a 20 year plan with 10.6GW of new gas as large load commitments rose to 2.8GW by 2030.
The layer moving is infrastructure. Firm, carbon free supply that arrives in under two years can now bid where gas and auctions stall. Distribution Capture governs: firm megawatts behind the interconnection gate command the premium. Confidence is Low: one 33MW block is a start, and costs are undisclosed.

WHAT WOULD PROVE THIS WRONG
Fervo misses commercial operation of the remaining two Cape Station blocks past June 30, 2027, or Cape Station runs below 80% of contracted output through its first year.
