A real Judd decision, with Meta Muse

Chicago, Oct 13 to 16. Nothing booked until Judd weighed in.

Before
  • Business trip from Los Angeles, flights only
  • Muse searched live fares: 4 nonstop flights, each refundable and non-refundable
  • Standing rule: nothing gets booked until Judd has seen it
After
  • Judd read the traveler’s rules first: 7 a.m. earliest departure, nonstop worth $75, refundable unless it saves 25%+
  • All 8 fares checked against those rules
  • Verdict YES: the Delta nonstop at $550, the traveler’s own pick
  • Logged as an FJP record. Muse waited for the go-ahead before booking

From a live Judd session with Meta Muse. The decision record is on file.

A permission system asks

“Is the agent allowed to do this?”

Judd asks

“Is this what you would want it to do?”

A technically valid booking can still be the wrong one. Judd is the difference.

Ask Judd

The agent does the work. Judd supplies the judgment.

Before an agent takes a consequential action, it asks Judd. Judd returns one of seven answers, with the reason. Judd does not just approve or deny.

YES

Go ahead with exactly what the agent proposed.

INSTEAD

Do a different option the agent already found.

FIND_BETTER

Search again, or bring the missing evidence, with Judd’s criteria.

NEGOTIATE

The price or terms are open. Ask for better before buying.

WAIT

A sale or a new model is coming, and you don’t need it yet.

ASK_YOU

This one is your call. Answer your agent, or tap Approve or Decline on your dashboard.

NO

Don’t do it, and here’s why.

What Judd checks

The four places agents spend your money.

Travel

Before your agent books a flight, hotel or car.

  • Refundable or not, based on how firm your plans are
  • Your times, airlines and hotel brands
  • Fees paid later at the property
  • Dates you protect and trips that overlap
EXAMPLE VERDICTBook Hilton Chicago at $760 instead. Refundable costs $140 more, but the non-refundable savings are under your 25% bar and there’s a 40% chance plans change.

Purchases

Before your agent buys anything over $50.

  • The better seller for the same item
  • Return policy, condition and delivery date
  • The same thing ordered twice in a month
  • Poor reviews, even on small buys: those come to you
  • Your spending limit, with tax and shipping counted
EXAMPLE VERDICTBuy from Best Buy at $199 instead. It can be returned and costs only $10 more; the non-returnable savings are under your 15% bar.

Restaurants

Before your agent reserves a table.

  • Reviews from 2 sources, recent ones weighted most
  • The time you asked for, or close to it
  • Deposits, prepaid menus and no-show fees
  • Fit for the occasion: quiet for business, reliable for a date
EXAMPLE VERDICTBook Quiet Table at 7:15 PM for 4 instead of Loud Bistro: just as well rated and quiet, so you can talk, at about the same cost ($272 against $260).

Subscriptions

Before your agent starts, renews, changes or cancels one.

  • Monthly or annual, using real expected cost
  • Renewals for things you don’t use
  • A new service that does the same job as one you already pay for
  • Free trials that are about to bill you
EXAMPLE VERDICTYou haven’t used Spotify in 60 days. Don’t renew; cancel it and save $11.99 a month.

Example verdicts are Judd's actual output for sample requests, using the default preferences. You can change every limit in your dashboard.

A real Judd decision · 5 nights near LAX

$943 looked under the limit. Judd knew it wasn't.

THE ASK

“Five nights near LAX, Oct 25 to 30.”

AGENT

Muse found the Courtyard by Marriott LAX: $943 refundable, or $787 on an advance rate. Muse flagged that both prices are before tax. About 16% is added at the hotel.

JUDD

ASK_YOU

REASON

$943 is before tax. With tax it will likely pass the traveler's $1,000 approval limit. Judd's pick is the refundable rate, but nothing is booked without the traveler's okay.

THE MATH

All in, the refundable rate is about $1,096. The advance rate saves about 16%, under the traveler's 25% bar for giving up free cancellation, so refundable wins.

WITHOUT JUDD

At face value, $943 is under $1,000. An agent books it, and the bill comes to about $1,096.

ON RECORD

Logged as an FJP record. Nothing is booked until the traveler says yes, to the agent or on the Judd dashboard.

A real Judd decision · AirPods Pro 2

$249 from a seller nobody could vouch for.

THE ASK

“Buy me AirPods Pro 2.”

AGENT

Muse found them for $249.33 on Best Buy's site. The seller was not Best Buy. It was a third party, Michael Electronics 2, on Best Buy Marketplace, with no seller rating and no stated return policy.

JUDD

ASK_YOU

REASON

An unrated marketplace seller with unknown returns is a risk, and $249.33 is before tax, so the real total passes the buyer's $250 approval limit.

NEXT

Muse looked for the same item sold directly. Apple and Best Buy no longer sell a new Pro 2 themselves. Muse found the newer AirPods Pro 3 at $249, sold by Apple.

JUDD AGAIN

ASK_YOU No seller risk this time. Only tax takes it past the $250 limit, so the buyer decides.

WITHOUT JUDD

“Best Buy, $249” looks safe. An agent buys from an unknown reseller, and the bill still comes in over the limit.

ON RECORD

Both decisions logged as FJP records. Nothing is bought until the buyer says yes, to the agent or on the Judd dashboard.

How Judd decides

Rules set the boundary. Math weighs the trade-off. AI may tighten, never loosen.

Then Judd returns the decision.

01

Rules

Your hard lines come first: spending limits, time windows, airlines and stores you avoid, hotel distance, protected dates, overlapping trips, refundability and returns, monthly subscription limits.

Example rule: “Refundable unless non-refundable saves 25% or more.”

02

Expected-value math

Then the trade-off. A cheaper option can cost more once you price in the chance your plans change.

With a tentative schedule (40% chance of change), a $620 non-refundable room has an expected cost of $868, more than a $760 refundable one.

03

Your agent checks, on a short leash

When Judd approves something, it hands your agent a short review: your standing instructions in your own words, and whether it was a close call. Your agent knows the conversation, so it does the check.

The agent can only be more careful, asking you instead of acting. It can never loosen Judd’s verdict. Judd itself makes no AI calls.

04

Record

Every decision is recorded: what Judd decided, the scores, why, and a concrete “this would be wrong if…”.

You can always see why your agent did what it did, on your dashboard.

Answer in one tap

Your yes has limits

An approval counts once, for the same item from the same seller, at no more than you agreed to. A no means Judd never lets your agent go ahead on its own.

Build a custom integration to Judd. The MCP server is at https://judd.flowinfo.co/mcp over streamable HTTP and needs my API key as a Bearer token in the Authorization header.

Then remember this: before you book any travel or restaurant table, buy anything that costs $50 or more, or start, renew, change or cancel a subscription for me, check with Judd first and follow its answer. Afterwards, tell Judd what you did. When Judd's answer includes his mascot, show it as a small icon next to his name with his verdict.
One message. Muse builds the connection.
  3. Give Muse your key, safely. When Muse asks for the API key, paste it into its secure credential prompt. Never paste your key into the chat.
  4. When Judd asks you, answer anywhere. Tell Muse yes or no, or tap Approve or Decline on your dashboard and ask Muse to check with Judd again.
